It's been awhile since I have posted any pics or updates so I hope you enjoy! The boys are growing up fast and I am not sure where the summer went but looking back at all these pics, it was a busy one. We spent some time camping with my parents in Wallowa Lake, OR which was a really great time, the boys loved it and seeing the very tame deer at the camp site every night. We hung out with a lot of my friends at Lake Roosevelt which is about an hour or so from us. We went to the county fair and this weekend I took the boys to Valley fest here in Spokane Valley. They have lots of events and Connor and I snuck out for the hot air balloon glow at 8pm last night. However, when the wind started acting up the balloons did as well so Connor spent the rest of the night rolling down the hill.
Just a couple quick updates since I know I haven't had a chance to talk to anyone lately but the boys are officially in a new daycare closer to where I work. It was hard to leave such a good facility but it was in the opposite direction of my work so it just didn't work and I was fighting to get there some days before closing. They loved our boys so much they were willing to open early and stay late but it was still just too hard. After having some not so great feelings about some other places I finally found a great place that I felt really comfortable with. I love the finger print security system, it's very clean and I have heard really great reviews on the place and they really "teach" the kids. During the assessment they were very impressed with Connor's advancements and he is one of the younger boys in his class and adjusting very well. Nolan is not adjusting just yet so that has been a struggle but I know it's just his attachment to us and it will come in time.
I am in my seventh week of clinicals and I am finally getting a stride that I am comfortable with. Nothing I learned in school could have ever prepared me for this. Ultra sound techs are mainly thought of as taking cute profile pics of babies but I do the least of that! A lot of my old issues with fainting and needles have finally gone away (and I did almost faint twice). It's been a lot of different things every day so I like the variety. I spend a lot of time checking abdomens for cancer and disease, scanned very few babies so far, on my rotating weeks at the hospital I have scanned during surgeries, biopsies, scanned legs and every other body part including draining lungs and abdominal cavities (probably my least favorite becasue it takes forever). Other than that I am loving my new field and can't wait to start work eventually!
Hope all is well with everyone,
Jamie
